WELCOME TO LIVING HARMONY YOGA
Hi, I'm Rachel, founder of Living Harmony Yoga. I am a passionate yoga and meditation teacher based in Cairns, and offer classes at the beautiful city based studio of Dragonfly Zen.
I completed my 500 hour yoga teacher training (Hatha Yoga with Shantarasa in Adelaide and India); Yin yoga training at the Byron Yoga School; and Foundations of Yoga Therapy with Yoga Therapy Australia. I have also undertaken many 10 day silent Buddhist meditation retreats in India and completed the month long November course at Kopan Monastery, Nepal.
I am passionate about sharing these practices that have greatly supported me through life, particularly through the hardest of life's challenges. In recent years I cared for my husband through his journey with cancer and carried myself through immense grief after his loss. I am grateful to have these practices that can soothe and support when nothing else can.
In such turbulent and challenging times as we are facing right now, yoga and meditation is needed more than ever. We can empower ourselves simply by learning how to breathe better which in turn calms the mind and soothes the nervous system. These practices are suitable for every one.
